The VIBE FLEX option is for high school students looking for a customized experience. Instruction and classwork can be done through a multitude of ways including:
- In-person classes at James Madison Education Center (JMEC)
- In-person classes at Burlington High School (especially for honors, electives &/or Career and Technical Education courses)
- Online classes through Edgenuity
- Online classes through VIBE CANVAS classes
- In-person or online classes through Southeastern Community College (SCC)
- In-person classes at your home district
Extracurriculars
VIBE FLEX students in grades 9-12 are encouraged and able to participate in all or some of the following in their home districts:
- Band
- Choir
- Theater performances put on by your home district
- Orchestra
- Sports
- Dance
- Clubs
- School dances
NOTE: Good standing with grades are usually needed for participation in most extracurriculars at home schools. Check with your home district to see what constitutes “good standing.”
FAT Fridays
Each Friday, the VIBE FIT, FLEX & VIRTUAL high school students have the opportunity to come to JMEC to create, explore, build & socialize with their peers. Activities will be different each time.
A truncated schedule (click here for schedule) will be used on Fridays to accomodate for these Fun Activity Times. All 9-12 grade VIBE students are welcome!
